Welcome to before breakfast a production of iHeartRadio.

Good morning. This is Laura. Welcome to the before breakfast podcast. Today's tip is to make it easier to talk about your own accomplishments by praising. What a group has gotten done.

Play tip like a few others this week comes from Meredith. Fine men's nubuck Bragg better Master the art of fearless self-promotion. Well, some people are well natural Brothers many of us have a harder time with this. We have this vague. Hope that our work will speak for itself. Fineman wants you to get rid of this notion your work doesn't speak for itself. She writes. Nobody else knows better what you've done or the hours that you've caught. If you do not share your work with other individuals are audiences. No one else will and here's the thing off and your great work will really help people. But if people don't know about it, they can't use it.

Fortunately, there are authentic ways to talk about your work that don't feel icky one. Great one is to speak well of a group that you happen to be in in a way that reflects gratitude for instance. I recently suggested that someone who felt a little weird about posting on Twitter that he'd been included in a list of top leaders mentioned that he was honored to be on this list with and then lift his friends who were also on the list Fineman likewise have a few go to phrases. I'm honored to be a part of this list of Executives in my industry or I left working with this client. And I think he liked my work to I was so thankful for that opportunity. I'd love to have a chance to lead a project with a similar client or I can't believe I get to be in this room of amazing women. And of course if you are leading a team, you can praise the team to the rafters when you were reporting on your work it all reflects. Well on you too, and the fact that your team worked well together deliver the project on time and

Budget means that it was incredibly well managed by you the manager, but you don't have to sit there saying hey, I'm a really awesome manager. Even if you are now, you can't be silent and expect your work speak for itself, but you can speak for your work in a way that feels more gracious and generous than just dumping your own chest. So today I think about a way that you could talk about your work through the lens of gratitude for praising the group and general many people could talk a lot more about their work. But if it's hard for you to start this is a pretty easy way and then you can go from there.

In the meantime, this is Laura. Thanks for listening. And here's to making the most of our time.
