Welcome to before breakfast a production of iHeartRadio.

Good morning. This is Laura.

00:00:56 before breakfast podcast today's tip is to take a few minutes to unsubscribe from whatever you don't want coming into your life.

Will deleting doesn't take much time and there are email programs that can help with this automatically it still good to take stock of whether you want or use what's coming in. So email to feel a lot less overwhelming.

I should start this episode by saying that I love email marketing. I send a weekly and monthly newsletter and I found that it's a great way to keep in touch with an audience. But Life Changes even a newsletter or discussion group that you signed up for and bumped your primary inbox, maybe no longer fits your circumstances, or maybe the emails come too frequently or perhaps you love a retailer, but you're trying to cut down on your spending.

The issue with all this is that it tends to take a little bit of time to unsubscribe not much at all. But sometime and it takes almost no time to delete so whenever The Unwanted email appears and we're busy we make the easier choice to break this habit. You need a designated chunk of time for unsubscribing.

So, how about today?

Turn up 10 minutes to address what you can let the email stack up through the day and then go in and follow the unsubscribe links for anything. You're not excited about anymore or that you caught yourself deleting more times than you've opened up. If you no longer follow an email based Discussion Group take this time to write the moderator and get yourself removed. There's no need to panic novel about it. Just say that you appreciate the moderators work. You've not been able to be an active participant and you'd like to exit the group if you have paid subscriptions take a few minutes to evaluate what you're getting out of the deal and whether it's still worth it.

And then possibly set up another email address for promotions. So any new advertising goes there and that's your primary inbox. If you don't have an email program that automatically does this for you.

We'll talk later this week about paper subscriptions, but we spend a lot of time in our inboxes the problem with notes we don't read is that they make email seem more overwhelming and they also tricked into checking our inboxes more frequently if we know something new will always be there or we see the number on the email icon going up it is so tempting to go take a look even if it's only stuff. We don't really want but the cause of time management is seldom helped by spending more time on email to take that the little bit of time today to lighten the load.

In the meantime, this is Laura. Thanks for listening. And here's to making the most of our time.
